Why don’t you have the financial results you want?
Because some politician is oppressing you? Because your business coach wouldn’t help you? Because you’re too old, or you don’t have the skills, or you got scammed?
Considering yourself a victim and playing the blame game is counter productive. It doesn’t matter whose fault it is. There is only one person who has the power to turn your fortunes around, and that’s you.
In this video, filmed at the Titanium Mastermind in Cabo San Lucas, Jeff Gardner explains why you need to lose your victim mentality before you will see any success in your business.
THE VICTIM MENTALITY
When Jeff Gardner started his business, he had a victim mentality.
He would run from one money making program, get-rich deal or home business to the next. He’d see so-and-so making a bunch of money, so he’d run over and send over his money to that marketer. The marketer would send back the materials, but there was always something not quite right about it.
It seemed too saturated. He didn’t like the look of the sales letter. There wasn’t enough support provided. It was too hard and required him to put in some work of his own.
But then, another marketer would come along and save him!
It was another magic button, another magic pill, but a real one this time. He wouldn’t have to do any work. So he’d buy the next product, but to his dismay, it was just as bad as the last. It wasn’t really a magic pill, and sadly, it looked like he’d have to do some work of his own.
Until, of course, the next marketer would come along and promise their own magic button would make him rich, and he’d rush to send that marketer his money. And the cycle would continue.
SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME
People with shiny object syndrome, who jump between different businesses and tactics and never commit, don’t make any money.
But it’s not because there was a problem with all of the businesses and tactics they tried.
If one other person is making money with that business, it’s probably luck. If two are making money, it’s probably a coincidence. But if there are three or more making money, and you are not, the business clearly works and the problem lies with you.
STOP RUNNING AWAY FROM RESPONSIBILITY
Jeff’s breakthrough came when he realized that he was running away from his own responsibility.
Instead of running towards whatever seemed the easiest, he stayed put with one business. He decided to figure out what others were doing to make money with that business, and make the necessary changes in his own actions.
Once you make this decision yourself, you can make money with any business at all, instead of chasing the magic buttons.
Decide that you’re going to be the owner of your experience, your life and your results. Even if things go wrong and it’s not your fault, you’re not going to waste your energy playing the blame game. It’s up to you to figure out a way over it.
Decide that you will never be a victim again.
