In this video, filmed at the Titanium Mastermind in the Dominican Republic, John Lee talks about how “putting himself out there” brought him opportunities that he never would have gotten if he were hiding from the limelight.
FROM NOBODY TO STAGE SPEAKER
John Lee had just created his first info product. It was an ebook about investing in property. He was making some sales online and managed to catch the attention of someone who was putting on live events. The event organizer was interested in having John speak about property investing.
John’s first reaction was, “I’m not a speaker.” Although he had low self esteem, low confidence and a stutter, he knew better than to turn down this opportunity.
Luckily for John, there were only 3 people in the audience. John decided to read out his ebook while on stage, because he did not know what else to say. Although he was dyslexic, he did his best and got through it.
The next thing John knows, he receives another request. “I heard you’re a property investing speaker. Can you speak at my event too?”
John decides that since his first live event went well enough, he’ll agree to speak at this other one too.
MOTION CREATES MOTION
To John’s surprise, there are a lot more than 3 people at the second event. There are 250 people, all looking at him and expecting to learn how to invest in property.
John gets on stage, and although he’s tempted to jump out the window, he reads out his ebook like he did before.
Afterwards, an attendee approaches John. “Hey John, that was amazing. How much is your report?” The attendee was ready to buy John’s ebook on the spot and hands him a £50 note.
Not only was John building his profile as a stage speaker, but he was acquiring new buyers into his business too. Word continued to go around and John eventually got the opportunity to speak at an event with the world famous speaker, Tony Robbins.
It all started because John was willing to release a product and say yes to the ever-increasing opportunities that came his way. Motion creates motion.
