In most countries, tourists are treated well under the law because they boost the economy.
Citizens, on the other hand, are treated like livestock. The government sees them as resources to be “milked” through labor and taxation. They will extract from citizens as much as they can stand without revolting.
The solution is to be a permanent tourist and enjoy the benefits. This means spreading your citizenship, residency, banking and business across different jurisdictions.

HOW BEING A TOURIST CAN PROTECT YOU
As you accumulate more money, you can be sure that people will try and take it off you. When you have different parts of your life in different countries, you can be more resistant to this.
If you are involved in a car accident in a certain jurisdiction, and it’s found that you have a lot of money stored in that same jurisdiction, it’s very easy for a lawyer to deem that you must pay the victim’s million dollar medical bill and to take a hefty commission as well.
If your assets are stored in another jurisdiction, it’s more likely that the lawyer will decide it’s too hard to get to your money.
Your government can cause you a lot of misery if they want to. If you’re simply accused of some crime, they can freeze your bank accounts and all of your wealth so that you have no money left to live. Then, after you’ve lost access to your money, you have to find some way to pay for a tax attorney to clear your name.
If you’re a tourist, on the other hand, the government sees you in a different light. Especially if you have a lot of money, you can be a booster to the economy. They’ll treat you more favorably.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN YOU GET IT WRONG
Being a “permanent tourist” means spreading your citizenship, residency, banking and business across different jurisdictions. This way, you’re never fully based in any one jurisdiction.
The software entrepreneur, John McAfee, got this wrong. He moved to Belize and placed all of his assets in that country. His real estate, bank account and residency were all in Belize.
One day, a Belize politician came knocking at his door and requested a donation of $2 million, knowing that John McAfee had a lot of money. He refused to donate, only to be met with constant harassment over the next few months.
The Belize government started checking his visas, his permits and anything that could possibly incriminate him. Eventually, some serious but made up accusations were made by the Belize police.
John McAfee managed to escape back to the United States, but he lost hundreds of millions of his money. His bank accounts were gone and his real estate were gone, and he had nothing left because everything was based in Belize.
