Testimonials help you sell, because someone else is vouching for your expertise and trustworthiness. That’s a lot more credible than you claiming it yourself.
You don’t need to wait for customers to buy, consume and get results from your product before you can start accumulating testimonials. There is a faster way to get a testimonial on the spot.
All you need to do is give someone a tip they didn’t know, and ask them if it was helpful.

GIVE THEM A TIP THEY DIDN’T KNOW
Approach the person who you’d like to give you a testimonial. Give them a tip that’s relevant to some problem they have or some goal they’re working to achieve.
For example, John Chow taught some blogging tips to Teresa and sold her some material to help her start her own blog.
Then, ask your friend four questions. First, ask them whether the tip you gave them was helpful. If it was a relevant tip for them and it was something they didn’t already know, they’ll nearly always say yes.
Secondly, ask them how they’ll apply the information. Thirdly, ask them whether it will help them achieve their goal. If you’ve done everything right, you should get three positive answers.
Finally, ask them whether they’d mind saying those same answers on camera, to help more people. They’ll usually be delighted to do it.
EXTRA TIPS TO GET A GOOD VIDEO
Ideally, start filming the testimonial video before they agree to it, so that you have proof of permission. Of course, you would edit this part out before publishing it.
Then, be strategic about the way you film the video, because most people are nervous in front of a camera lens and nerves are not a good look in a testimonial. Hold their hand, so that they feel safe and you make an emotional connection.
Also, instead of putting the camera in their face, have them look at you while they deliver the testimonial. Then, it’s more genuine and doesn’t look forced. Position the camera to the side so that both you and your friend are visible.
You could repeat this process again and again and build a whole library of testimonials in a matter of hours.
