Did you know that we are taking worse photos now than 15 years ago?
It’s because in the days of film, you made every exposure count. These days, because digital storage is abundant, we don’t take as much care to make each one as good as it can be.
Our time is limited like film, not endless like digital storage.
In this video, filmed at the Platinum Mastermind in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Nik Halik explains why you need to manage your time like you would manage photographic film.
MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT
You need to approach life in the way that people used to approach taking photos in the days of film.
Unfortunately, most people don’t do this. They waste days here and there, and they tell themselves it’s OK because there’s always tomorrow.
The problem with this way of thinking is that no one can buy back time. Every day that you waste is a day you’ll never get back. That’s why you need to make every day count.
HOW ENERGY MANAGEMENT WORKS
Nik Halik doesn’t like to manage his time. Instead, he manages his energy.
This means that he understands which times of day he has the highest energy levels. At these times of day, he’ll do his most important work tasks. At the times of day that he has low energy levels, he’ll do the less important tasks.
The times when you have the highest energy will differ from others. It may be early morning, late night, or somewhere in between.
Managing your energy, rather than your time, means that you don’t try to brute-force your way to productivity. Being more productive doesn’t mean working more hours. It means staying healthy, working at the right times, being efficient and avoiding distractions.
If you’re like most business owners, you have jobs that are creatively demanding and compete for your attention with other distractions. This is why managing your energy is crucial to the early success of your business.
