A STORY OF TWO LISTS
In 2010, Shaqir had a list of 600 people, and he had made about $60,000 from these customers. To some, this may seem like a lot of money, but to Shaqir, it was less than he would have liked. He was frustrated and felt he was missing out on the bigger money.
Shaqir went along to an industry event, in the hope that he would meet some gurus who could teach him their secrets to scaling up.
As it happened, Shaqir discovered it was he himself who held the secret.
Another marketer at the event boasted that he had a list of 100,000. His approach was to simply blast his list with offers, measure how much revenue he could bring in per email, and then add more emails to scale up his income.
Shaqir mentioned to the other marketer that he’d made $60,000 from a list of 600 people. The other marketer was shocked that so much money could come from such a small list.
A SIMPLE MINDSET SHIFT
The other marketer could only think of his list in terms of numbers, while Shaqir thought of his list as 600 real people.
He understood that they had their own hopes and dreams, and they signed up because they were desperate for a solution to their problem.
Instead of thinking about how you can make a quick buck off of your list, stop to consider them as real people. Ask yourself what kind of problems are they experiencing, why did they sign up with you, and how can you provide them with a solution.
That’s how you can make bigger money with a smaller list.
